The public procession of the former President of the Hellenic Republic, Karolos Papoulias, who died on Sunday morning (26/12), at the age of 92, will be held on Wednesday at noon, at the Church of Agios Spyridon in Pagrati.
Due to the sanitary measures, the burial of Karolos Papoulias will be performed in a close family circle on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at his birthplace, on the island of Ioannina.
The family expressed the desire for any donations to be deposited in the Ark of the World and the Society for the Protection of Spastic Doors Open.
With the honors of a head of state
By decision of the government, his funeral will be held with the honors of a head of state.
It was also decided to observe public mourning from the day of his death for three days, as well as on the day of his funeral.
Today the flags will fly at half-mast in the public buildings of all Greece.
