The investigation into the Tempe railway tragedy may take on new dimensions after the prosecution brought by the Larissa District Attorney against the former regional governor of Thessaly, Kon. Agorastos, on the occasion of the "bazoma" at the place of the railway tragedy.

According to information from "E", the Prosecutor of First Instance yesterday prosecuted Mr. Agorastos only for the misdemeanor of dereliction of duty, an offense which the former District Governor flatly denies, as he emphatically notes in his memorandum, especially regarding the dispute part of the "alteration" of the site of the railway tragedy, underlining that the Region of Thessaly had a supporting and not a decisive role in the work that followed at the scene of the tragedy, after the completion of the investigation by the authorities to identify victims, in order to restore transport .

It is recalled that Mr. Agorastos is being referred as part of a preliminary investigation following a lawsuit filed, in August 2023, by a total of 19 parents and relatives of victims of the railway tragedy, against everyone responsible, focusing, among other things, on the "decision of strangers" to "alter » the site of the accident on the occasion of the work carried out in Tempi, when it was decided that the investigations for the identification of passengers had been completed.

The lawsuit had then caused the intervention of the head of the Larissa First Instance Prosecutor's Office, who ordered a preliminary examination, in order to investigate the allegations, focusing, among other things, on the dimension of the lawsuit regarding "alteration of critical evidence", which could lead to different assessments, even in the "covering up of criminal responsibility" of those responsible for the tragedy.

But also to investigate the reasons why, upon completion of the investigations to identify victims at the scene of the tragedy and after the removal of the carriages of the two trains, restoration work was carried out on the site.
