Arrests and injuries in lockdown episodes
Specifically, members of the Dutch police riot units and shields passed a multitude of thousands of people, which had been concentrated on Sunday in Amsterdam to protest against Lockdown measures to curb Covid-19 and against vaccinations.
Public gatherings of more than two people are banned due to government restrictions in an effort to prevent the Omicron variant of the coronavirus from flooding the already strained health system in the Netherlands.
At least 30 people were arrested after the episodes, during which four police officers were injured, police say in a statement.
