An "air" of optimism regarding the development of the coronavirus vaccine is blowing from Italy!

According to what is becoming known, Italian researchers claim that the vaccine they produce will be the first in the world that actually neutralizes the coronavirus. In fact, according to what they claim = they intend to proceed with testing on humans, in the fall.

According to the British Daily Mail, scientists from the medical research company, Takis Biotech, based in Rome, gave the vaccine to mice and got the antibodies produced.

Antibodies are considered vital for building "immunity", while preliminary results of laboratory tests showed that the antibodies produced by the tests in mice were able to stop the infection of human cells by the coronavirus.

"As far as we know, we are the first in the world to have results in neutralizing coronavirus with a vaccine," said Luigi Oriccio, the company's CEO.

The vaccine test method involved inserting a small amount of cloned genetic code from the virus into the body.

Scientists at Oxford University are "running" for an effective vaccine

All this while researchers at the University of Oxford are working hard to get a vaccine earlier than 12 months.

The Oxford vaccine, called "ChAdOx1", could lead to mass production after laboratory and clinical trials.

The Oxford research team, led by Professor Sarah Gilbert, plans to conduct clinical trials of the vaccine, as long as animal testing has taken place.

If these tests are satisfactory, the research team will conduct extended clinical trials to determine the effectiveness of the vaccine in protecting against Covid-19.

The program for clinical trials is as follows:

Phase I - Vaccination of 510 volunteers aged 18-55 years, half with the new vaccine COVID-19 and the other half with a control vaccine.

Phase II - Extension of the maximum age of the participants, from 55 to 70 years and then over 70 years.

Phase III - Vaccination of 5 thousand volunteers, over 18 years old, half with the vaccine for COVID-19.
