The death toll from the new coronavirus in Italy now stands at 233, while the cases in the country have reached 5.883 according to the latest data from the Italian authorities. It is indicative that the cases on Saturday (7/3) increased by 1.145 compared to Friday.

2.651 people have been admitted to the country's hospitals, 567 patients are being treated in intensive care units and 1.843 are under house arrest.

The Italian regions with most of its cases COVID-19 Lombardy (3.420), Emilia Romagna (1.010) and Veneto (543) remain.
