British police opened fire and used a teaser to arrest a man who he rammed his car into the vehicle of the ambassador of Ukraine and then attempted to lure police officers to London earlier today, Scotland Yard said. Police explained - in a press release issued - that they were called around 10:30 (Greek time) "for a vehicle that collided with parked vehicles near the Ukrainian embassy", located in the Holland Park district.

As soon as security forces arrived at the scene, "a vehicle headed towards the police," police said, adding that law enforcement officers used their weapons and a teaser. "The vehicle was stopped and a man, about 40 years old, was arrested," police said, noting that the suspect was not injured. He was taken to hospital, however, for precautionary reasons. Police do not consider the incident to be of a terrorist nature. At the same time, an investigation was launched into the use of weapons by police.

The Ukrainian embassy confirms that Ambassador Natalia Galibarenko's vehicle was "deliberately" targeted twice by the driver. "The official car of the Ukrainian ambassador to Britain was deliberately rammed while parked in front of the Ukrainian embassy building," said the Ukrainian diplomatic mission. The footage broadcast by television networks shows a car, in silver color, on the road blocked by the security forces, while the driver's door is open and the window is broken.
