Putin proposes weapons systems for Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he was particularly pleased with his visit to Moscow. Alexander Vuτςiτς is in the Russian capital where he watched the great military parade for the 73 years since the victory against Nazism.

In an interview with Serbian public television - RTS, Aleksandar Vucic said that during the presentation, in the parade, of the Russian weapons systems, Vl. Putin suggested that Serbia procure multiple SMERCH-type missile launchers as well as the PANTSIR-S1 air defense system. "During the parade, Putin kept asking me what kind of weapon it was. As the SMERCH and PANTSIR-S1 systems passed, he told me: "These systems have proven to be very good in Syria. "You should consider acquiring them because, as it turned out, they are the most effective," Aleksandar Vucic told Serbian television.

The Serbian president said that during his talks with the Russian president yesterday, issues of security of economic and energy cooperation, as well as the issue of Kosovo were discussed. As Al. Vuτςiτς received Putin's assurance that Russia would closely monitor developments around the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and intervene in international organizations when it saw that Serbia's interests were being harmed.

Aleksandar Vuτςiτς assured that he would not take decisions against Russia, while he made special reference to maintaining military neutrality and promised Putin, in front of the cameras, that Serbia would never join NATO.

It is worth noting that Alexander Vuτςiτς was the first foreign leader to be received by the President of Russia. Putin immediately after his inauguration.
