US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania were received today at Windsor Tower by Queen Elizabeth, a meeting that has provoked many reactions in Britain.
The 92-year-old queen, dressed in blue, welcomed the presidential couple on a platform set up in the courtyard of the Tower, under an awning to protect themselves from the dazzling sun.
Elizabeth, while waiting for the arrival of the president and the first lady of the USA, was seen taking a look at her watch. She shook hands with both of her high-ranking guests and after the national anthems were played and the guard inspected, everyone headed in for tea, according to Reuters and Agence France-Presse, as reported by the Athens News Agency.
Trump will leave later today for Scotland, where he will spend the weekend before flying to Helsinki to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
