This kick was unprecedented

Two teenagers stole a small plane from a rural area in eastern Utah today and flew it low over a freeway before landing at a local airport where they were arrested.

The teens, aged 14 and 15, picked up the single-engine aircraft from a private runway in the small northeastern Utah town of Jensen, according to the Uda County Sheriff's Office.

The two teenagers thought of continuing their flight west to a densely populated area of Utah, but eventually decided to go back and land the plane at Vernal Regional Airport, 25 miles from where they took off.

Authorities arrested them near the airport and took them to a juvenile detention center in the area.
