Ten people, including a family of nine, have died in the Palermo region of Sicily from flooding caused by river overflows, the fire service announced today.
The bodies of nine members of the same family, including one-year-olds aged 3 and 15, were collected from their home in Casteldacia on the banks of a small river, while a man died while driving his car. The fate of two more people in the area is also unknown.
