Hundreds of people are running to get out of the area, while many shopkeepers are trapped in their businesses.
International news agencies report that strong police forces have rushed to the area.
A police statement stressed that the authorities reacted to the alarm as if it were a terrorist attack, without, however, stating that it was indeed a "hit" of terrorism.
The station is in the "heart" of the English capital and the incident occurred at a time when the center was full of people shopping on Black Friday.
However, the Metropolitan Police, according to its latest post on Twitter, announces that no traces of the suspects, further information on the shootings or whether there were any casualties from the incident. However, as he stressed, police officers are still on the scene, at this time, continuing research in the area.
However, about an hour and a half later, the police completed the search, ending the alarm and the large mobilization that preceded, as no evidence of shootings or suspects was found.
