A plane carrying nine people crashed shortly after take-off outside Orebro, Sweden, the state-run TT news agency reported, citing authorities.

"This is a special parachute aircraft that crashed shortly after takeoff," said Emil Gustavson, head of rescue operations at the Joint Rescue Coordination Center.

"We have no information about injuries to people on board," he added.

The plane crashed near Orebro airport.

The police are talking about several dead

Several people were killed today when a plane crashed shortly after takeoff outside Orebro, Sweden, Swedish police said.

"It is a very serious accident," police said in a post on their official website. "Several people were killed."

According to police, nine people were on board. Local media reported that two people aboard the plane were taken to hospital but did not indicate anything about their state of health.

The head of rescue operations at the Joint Rescue Coordination Center confirmed to the state news agency TT that the aircraft was a free-fall parachute specialist.
