The 12 children who were rescued together with their coach from a cave in Thailand, having spent 17 days trapped in complete darkness, were released today.

A press conference will be held today in the northern city of Chiang Rai, in which the children will participate together with their coach.

According to local media, the place has been designed in such a way that it looks like a football field, since all 12 boys belong to the same team.

The same publications state that the interview will be attended by doctors, social workers and psychologists.

The boys, their coach and some of the rescuers will be asked to answer a series of carefully formulated questions, which the journalists had already asked the organizers of the press conference, the authorities announced.

"We do not know what wounds the children carry in their hearts," said Justice Ministry official Taguatsaki Taikau, who called for the boys to be respected, citing the impact on the media of their mental health.

It is recalled that the members of the "Wild Boar" team were trapped in the flooded Tam Luang cave on June 23 and after 9 days they were located by 2 divers. A titanic operation followed to rescue them. The 12 children remained in the hospital for a week for follow-up as they were exhausted and malnourished.

"It was an unexpected experience"

In the press conference, one of the children stated that the biggest problem they faced was hunger, while he stated that they managed to watch the World Cup final in hospital, with most of them supporting the French team.

"We had no food, we just drank water."

Another child after the adventure he lived promised to be a good person and a good citizen.

The coach said that what he experienced with the children was an unexpected experience that taught him a lot.

"I told them not to be afraid"

The children's coach who was the "keeper" of the children revealed that in the beginning, the team tried to dig.

"I told them not to be afraid, because the water will recede tomorrow," the coach added.

How they ended up in the cave…

According to the coach, all members of the team agreed to go to the cave. They saw the water coming in and thought of leaving.

"It simply came to our notice then. We had to get wet and swim. "We all know how to swim."

However, they did not realize how much the water level had risen. A little later they realized that they were trapped.
