A powerful explosion, after which a fire broke out, destroyed most of a department store in a neighborhood of Tel Aviv, resulting in the death of at least four people, according to Israeli media.
Channel 2 reported four dead, Haaretz three, while other media outlets reported that there were many more injured.
The cause of the explosion has not been known so far, however, according to Haaretz, the authorities consider that it was an accident and not a criminal act.
Part of the one-story building on Jeffet Street in Jaffa has collapsed.
