A fire that broke out in a building in the Dasing district of southern Beijing claimed the lives of 19 people, while eight others were injured, Chinese media reported today.
According to the state news agency New China, the fire was extinguished hours after it broke out. The injured were taken to hospitals.
The fire was reported around 18:00 local time on Saturday (12:00 Greek time) and was extinguished about three hours later. Chinese police have arrested suspects, according to reports. The city will set up a fire commission.
