The case of Zak Costopoulos, who died on the sidewalk three years ago after what happened on Gladstonos Street in the center of Athens, is being revived today in the halls of the Mixed Jury Court.
Six defendants, two businessmen and four police officers will appear in court.

Both the two citizens, the jeweler and a broker, as well as the four police officers who had rushed to the spot are accused of fatal bodily harm, while the trial was determined for today after a postponement it had received a year ago due to the measures for the coronavirus.

The death of the 33-year-old activist, which comes to the fore three years later, had shocked much of society due to the brutality of the beatings received by the activists from the accused, scenes recorded and broadcast by the media, a death in public view, as reported by the Civil Action. The material that is part of the case file that is expected to be shown in court is particularly harsh as it records the 33-year-old receiving severe beatings from the first two defendants and finally calming down while the police tried to handcuff him.

Protest rally
Delgeri is currently closed outside the courthouse where a protest rally is taking place. There are strong police forces at the scene.
