An alarm has been sounded in Ikaria, as a 34-year-old British woman is missing, in a new case of disappearance of a tourist that concerns the authorities.
The 34-year-old, as it appears from the data so far, went on August 3 in Ikaria, in the area of Kerame, with her 38-year-old Cypriot partner. The couple was planning to leave for Cyprus via Athens yesterday, Monday.
On Monday morning, however, when the Cypriot partner woke up, he called the 34-year-old because he was missing and she told him that he had gone for a run.
Time passed and the 34-year-old has not picked up her phone again since. So, her partner announced her disappearance, at 12:40 on Monday. Since that time, a large operation of the authorities is underway to locate her. A helicopter participates in the investigations, together with the Police and the Fire Brigade.
