Flights to Larnaca and Paphos airports are canceled, after the implementation of the measure for entry into the country only to persons who fall into certain categories, as a precautionary measure for the non-spread of the coronavirus.

In case visitors arrive in Cyprus who do not fall into the categories of people who are allowed to enter the territory of the Republic, then they will not be allowed to enter the country, however so far no such incident has occurred.

Information of KYPE from Hermes Airports states that since 12 midnight, when the measure announced by the President of the Republic with his speech to the Cypriot people came into force, there have been several cancellations of aircraft flights from European and Middle Eastern countries. of Russia and generally from countries operating flights to Cyprus.

At the same time, there are flights to and from both airports in Cyprus, transporting mainly Cypriot passengers and foreign visitors, who leave for their countries.

It is expected that in the coming days the landscape will clear up and there will be a clearer picture on the issue of arrival and departure of people at Larnaca and Paphos airports.

It is reminded that according to the recent speech of the President of the Republic from today, March 15, 2020 and for a period of 15 days, the following categories will be able to enter Cyprus:

(a) Cypriot citizens

(b) Legally resident in the Republic of Cyprus

(c) European nationals or third-country nationals working in the Republic

(d) Nationals of countries engaged in mandated service / mission under bilateral or international conventions

(e) Individual cases of European nationals or third-country nationals for unavoidable professional obligations, provided that the relevant authorization is obtained from the relevant Ministry;

(f) European nationals or third-country nationals attending educational institutions in the Republic of Cyprus.
