Arrival of migrants: Syrians and Palestinians on the boat, mostly men

One arrest for the new arrival of 32 irregular immigrants

Another 32 people arrived from Lebanon last night in a boat spotted 22 nautical miles south of Cape Greco. They are 19 men, 3 women, 7 males who said they are minors and 3 children.

The boat was initially detected by the Republic's radars at the Search and Rescue Coordination Center. In the sea area 22 nautical miles south of Cape Cabo Greco where the boat was spotted, a Coastal and Maritime Police was dispatched.

It was found that 32 people were on board the boat, 30 Syrians and 2 Palestinians. They are 19 men, 3 women, 7 unaccompanied minors and 3 children, who were safely transported to the port of Larnaca where their details were recorded.

They were then transferred to the Pournara Migrant Temporary Accommodation Center in Kokkinotrimithia.

The Police proceeded to arrest an immigrant as the alleged navigator of the boat.
