Larnaca Police are investigating a case of violation of a smoking ban, causing concern and a joint attack against a flight attendant by a 47-year-old man.

According to the Police, shortly after midnight today, a flight arrived at Larnaca airport from abroad.

While the passengers were getting off the plane, a 47-year-old passenger, while he was on the steps of the plane, lit a cigarette.

A flight attendant on the stairs located the passenger and remarked to him to put out his cigarette, because there was a risk of ignition since the aircraft was being refueled at that time.

The 47-year-old started shouting, as a result of which, due to the risk of ignition, the flight attendant snatched the cigarette from the passenger's mouth and extinguished it.

The man slapped the flight attendant in the face and continued shouting, lighting a second cigarette.

The flight attendant filed a complaint with the Police against the 47-year-old who was charged in writing with the offenses of violating the smoking ban, joint attack and causing concern.
