The near-victim left yesterday for abroad, without giving a statement.
The Police spokesperson, Christos Andreou, stated that since there is no testimony from the person directly involved, the authorities do not have all the data in their hands, so that the investigative work can proceed. He noted that investigators in the case do not know essential information, such as whether the target of the crime had received threats.
Mr. Andreou also said that it is difficult to establish a case in court, since there is no complainant.
"Nevertheless", he added, evidence has been received from the scene of the attempted murder and the vehicle that was hit by the gunfire and police investigations are continuing.
