A police statement states that around 8.40 last night, after information, members of the Police went to a village in the province of Nicosia, to check two persons, who were suspected of driving in the area.
After verifying the details of the two suspects, men aged 25 and 22, residents of Cyprus, a search of their vehicle followed, in the luggage of which a third suspect was found, a 25-year-old man, a third-country national, who was found to have arrived in occupied areas and entered the free areas illegally.
The three suspects were taken to the local Kokkinotrimithia Police Station, where after arrest warrants were issued against them, they were arrested and detained for the purpose of police interrogation.
According to the information under investigation, around 8.40 on Tuesday night, two suspects, in a car they were driving, entered the dead zone, in an area of Nicosia province and a few minutes later returned to the free areas, transporting four more with their vehicle. faces.
