Police arrested two people yesterday, in connection with a case of theft of a cross from the church.

According to the police, on March 31, a complaint was registered by the abbess of the monastery of Agia Theklis in Mosfiloti, that on the same day strangers stole from the monastery a wooden cross with gold details, worth 7.000 euros.

Yesterday afternoon, members of the police, at the testimony evaluation base, arrested two people as suspects in the case.

They are a man, 47 years old from a village in the province of Larnaca and a woman, also 47 years old from a village in the province of Famagusta.

The two pleaded guilty and are expected to be brought before the Larnaca District Court today.
