The Paphos District Court on Tuesday issued a three-day detention order against a 31-year-old man who is allegedly involved in two cases of burglary and theft in Paphos.
According to the Spokesman of the Paphos Police Department and Head of the Paphos Police, Michalis Nikolaou, the 31-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Friday for possessing various objects, burglary tools, assault rifles and a small amount of drugs.
Mr. Nikolaou stated that the search of the 31-year-old's vehicle was carried out in the early hours of January 21, 2022 during a patrol by members of the Paphos TAE.
A search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of drugs, various burglary tools, two knives and a bat, as well as various items suspected of being stolen.
According to Mr. Nikolaou, a large number of valuables were also located and confiscated, such as watches, sunglasses, pens, mobile phones, power tools and a sum of money, for which the 31-year-old did not give sufficient explanations on how they were found in his possession.
He was subsequently arrested and remanded in custody for three days on Tuesday. The Paphos TAE, in collaboration with YKAN (Paphos Provincial Ladder), is investigating the case.
