Four people handcuffed for a string of thefts and burglaries

The Police made four arrests yesterday, to facilitate investigations into various cases of burglaries, thefts and embezzlement, committed in the provinces of Paphos, Limassol and Nicosia.

In the province of Nicosia, the Police arrested two persons, aged 21 and 19, on the basis of court warrants, to facilitate investigations related to an ongoing case of residential burglary, theft and malicious damage.

The offenses appear to have been committed on November 14, 2023, in a village in the province of Nicosia. According to the complaint made to the Police, at noon on November 14th, unknown persons apparently broke into the home of a 50-year-old man. The perpetrators allegedly stole a sum of money from the house.

In Limassol, members of the Police proceeded to the arrest of a minor for the voluntary offense of theft and for traffic offences. The minor was spotted riding a moped on a street in Limassol. He was stopped for a check by members of Team Z, only to find that the moped he was riding had been reported stolen in the previous days.

The Limassol TAE is investigating the case.

In Paphos, members of the Police arrested a 28-year-old man late at night, pursuant to a court warrant, to facilitate investigations related to an investigated case of car theft.

The case was reported to the Police, yesterday late afternoon, by the wife of the owner of the vehicle. According to the evidence under review, the vehicle was stolen around 4 p.m. yesterday, while parked in the parking lot of a friend's house.

From the Police examinations, testimony was obtained against a 28-year-old man, who was arrested a short time later, pursuant to a court warrant, to facilitate investigations.

The 28-year-old allegedly indicated to the police a specific open space in Paphos, where the stolen vehicle was found.

The Paphos Minor Offenses Department continues the examinations.
