The bicycle purchase subsidy portal is reopening today

It was put back into operation by 09:00 on Tuesday morning the online portal through which citizens can apply for a bicycle purchase grant. Today, it is clarified, the portal will be open only for the disabled.

The application process will be as follows:

The application process is as follows:

(1) Visit the website www.podilato.gov.cy based on the start date of applications. Specifically, for the application for the bicycles of the disabled type, the applicants should visit the website on November 9, 2021 at 9.00 am. while for City, Road and Mountain type bicycles applicants should visit the website on November 10, 2021 at 09.00:XNUMX a.m.

(2) Upon entering the Portal, the applicant must submit a pre-approval application by entering his / her mobile phone number. Pre-approval will be granted to applicants in order of priority.

(3) The pre-approved applicants will receive a message with a link where they will be able to submit the information required for the relevant grant. The data can be submitted at any time, within the time frame of three (3) days.

(4) Those applicants who have not been pre-approved, and wish to be included in the shortlist, should enter their e-mail address in the box that will appear on the Portal.

It is reminded that, beneficiaries of the New Non-Electric Bicycle Purchase Grant Scheme is Cypriots, Europeans and third-country nationals over the age of 18 who reside permanently in the territories controlled by the Republic of Cyprus. The Plan concerns the purchase of a new non-electric bicycle which falls into the following categories:

a) City Bikes

b) Road Bikes

c) Mountain Bikes

d) Bicycles for People with Disabilities (PWDs)

It is noted that the Electric Bicycles are excluded from the Plan for which a subsidy will be given from another future Plan.

Regarding the amount of the subsidy for City, Road and Mountain bikes, the maximum amount of the grant will be € 200, provided that the value of the bicycle will not exceed € 1000 including VAT, or at the actual purchase price of the bicycle, whichever is less.

About bicycles for People with Disabilities (PWDs) the maximum amount of the grant will be € 800, provided that the value of the bicycle will not exceed € 4000 including VAT, or at the actual purchase price of the bicycle, whichever is less.

Finally, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works reminds that, in addition to 2021, the above Plan will be implemented during 2022 and 2023.
