The amount of electricity provided, upon request, by the Republic of Cyprus to the occupied areas amounts to approximately 4000 megawatt hours.

The electricity supply started on August 12 and was interrupted today at noon, while it was initially requested to be interrupted at midnight on August 17.

As the Deputy Spokesperson of the Transmission System Operator, Rogiros Tapakis, stated to KYPE.
An extension of the electricity supply was requested until noon today. At 12.00 today, the interruption of the supply of electricity to the occupied areas began, which is done gradually until it is zero, added Mr. Tapakis.

He noted that the quantity given amounts to a total of about 4000 megawatt hours and that it will be returned in
later stage, namely in September and October, "when it can be better utilized for the system along with the production of the EAC".

He also said that if there is any problem in our system, such as a fault, "we can ask them to give us electricity without any planning".

Mr. Tapakis stated that the consultation for the supply of electricity is done between the two sides based on the arrangements that exist in the framework of the implementation of confidence building measures (MOE).
