Cyprus: A box containing the ashes of a dead child was stolen - Video documentary

A couple of Swedish tourists in Cyprus reported the theft of a wooden box containing the ashes of their dead child to the Police, appealing to the public to provide information that could help locate him.

According to the data under examination, the box was stolen between 5.00 and 5.20 yesterday afternoon, by the rental car used by the tourist couple, while the vehicle was parked in a restaurant parking lot in the area of ​​Akti Kyverniti, outside Limassol.

After the vehicle was broken by breaking the window of the passenger door, three cloth bags containing clothes, the amount of 200 euros and the wooden box with the ashes of the couple's child were stolen from it.

The Police publishes a photo of the mentioned wooden box, noting that the box had the inscription "DENNIS 2000 - 2019".

The case is being investigated by the Monastery Police Station.

Appeal from parents

The parents of the child, whose box was stolen with his ashes, appeal for the location of the box. The child died five months ago, at the age of 19.

The parents traveled to Cyprus for a Christmas holiday and at the same time decided to scatter the ashes in the sea, while in the previous months they had it at their home in Sweden. Their return trip is scheduled for tomorrow.

Video documentary from the moment that the dark-colored rental vehicle that the Police is looking for in connection with the theft of wood and ash from a 19-year-old from Sweden, enters the restaurant parking lot in the Coast area, where the incident took place.

According to testimonies and a closed circuit from an adjacent premises held by the Police at the place where the burglary took place, there was a small rental car, dark in color, which then left the place moving suspiciously.

Thus, the police patrols are looking for the specific vehicle, since it is not excluded that it was the one used by the perpetrators of the burglary and theft.
