The sectoral de-escalation of all measures, until their complete lifting, taking the example of other European countries such as Denmark, England and the Spanish region of Catalonia, where the covid pass is being abolished and there is de-escalation of the measures, demands the sectoral board of Nurses and other Hospital Staff. It also welcomes the joint recent announcement of January 26 by the teachers' branch of the Pancyprian union EQUALITY and the union of United Parents of Cyprus, with their main concern the immediate abolition of the test to stay, but also the rapid tests, until the decision of the Attorney General.

In today's announcement, the sectoral council of Nurses and other Hospital Staff states that since rapid tests in Hospitals continue to be provided free of charge, for work purposes for all staff, it is recommended that they be tested with saliva and participate in this control. those vaccinated with 3 doses, since their exclusion lacks scientificity.

He also states that the 48-hour control seems excessive, since the daily number of cases shows that with this measure it was not possible to reduce the daily number of cases but on the contrary there is a significant increase, compared to previous pandemic waves.

The Nurses' Sectoral Council wonders "why, while the decision is still pending from the Prosecutor on the issue of ethylene oxide in the test swabs, saliva tests are not performed and the rapid tests are suspended from the nasal passages, until the full examination of this case ".

"Despite the uncertainty and the fear of the people, for the test to be performed with the specific substance, a recommendation is made for a test with rapid test in infants, on a weekly basis, aged 2-5 years. How is it possible to put babies in such a process, who are not even able to understand why they are doing this test feeling that they are being physically and mentally abused by their own parents since most children of this age do not cooperate increasing and the risk of injury? ", he notes.
