After the meeting, the issuance of a Joint Announcement of the two Governments is expected.
At 2pm (Cyprus time) the President of the Republic will have a meeting with the King of Spain Filippo STI, at the Zarzuela Palace, and then he will have lunch with his wife, who is quoting the royal couple in their honor.
The President of the Republic will be accompanied in Madrid by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, the Minister of Health Mr. Michalis Hatzipantelas, the Government Spokesman Mr. Marios Pelekanos and officials.
On the sidelines of the visit of the President of the Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will have a working breakfast tomorrow morning with his Spanish counterpart, Jose Manuel Alvarez, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After the working breakfast, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Health will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Cyprus and Spain at a special ceremony to be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Specifically, the Foreign Minister will sign a Memorandum of Understanding for political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, and a Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of formal bilateral cooperation between the Spanish Diplomatic School and the newly established Undergraduate Diploma.
The Minister of Health will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Spanish counterpart of Carolina Darias for cooperation in the field of Health, which, among other things, concerns the exchange of knowledge and experiences regarding the treatment of the pandemic.
The President of the Republic and his entourage will return to Cyprus late on the evening of December 9th.
