At Nicosia-Limassol highway, from Wednesday, April 14, 2021 Improvement works will be carried out at the Kornos junction. the projects will last 15 months and concern on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the highway, on the entrance of the highway from Korno / Pyrga to Nicosia and on the exit from Limassol to Korno / Pyrga, and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance on the east side, on Korna to Limassol.
Also in Nicosia-Limassol highway, the period 3 to 28 January 2021, from 07:00 until 15:00, every day except weekends and holidays, replacement work of battered safety railings will be carried out. During the works, it will be partially closed in a length of 500m. approximately the right-hand lane, in both directions and the traffic will be diverted to the left-hand lane.
At Nicosia, from the Monday 3 January 2022 up to Sunday January 16 2022The Digeni Akrita Avenue will be closed from its junction with Androkleous Street until its junction with Nikodimou Mylonas Street, to continue the reinforcement works of the existing rectangular rainwater drain. Drivers are kindly requested to use the detour through Androkleous - Pindarou and Eugenia Theodotou streets in the direction of Pallouriotissa. For the direction to the Lycabettus Police, drivers are kindly requested to use Nikodimou Mylonas and Kallipoleos streets.
Also in Nicosia, at Themistokli Dervi Street, the Wednesday 12 / 1 / 2022 and Thursday 13 / 1 / 2022, between the hours of 06:00 -15: 00, works will be carried out for the construction of an apartment building. At old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the context of the construction works of Phase 1 of the road network of the Vasilikos Energy Center, during the period 24/10/2021 – 23/4/2022, the eastern road connecting the road with the port of Vasilikos will be closed to traffic. Works in old Nicosia-Limassol road, will be held during the period 3/1/2022 – 31/3/2022, daily except Sundays and public holidays, between the hours of 07:00 - 16:00, for the construction of water pipes by the Department of Water Development. During the works, part of a traffic lane, the old road Nicosia - Limassol, from the 'Pig Reservoir' to the WDD pumping station in Kofinou, in the direction of Kofinou, will be partially closed in a length of about 100 meters (total length 2500 meters, approximately) and the traffic will be in the adjacent lane with the use of temporary traffic lights.
