A 76-year-old man died while swimming at Mackenzie Beach in Larnaca, with police investigating a case of sudden or unnatural death.
According to the Police, around 09.10 in the morning, the 76-year-old was found floating unconscious in the sea area of Makenzi.
Bathers who were in the area lifted the man from the sea and provided him with first aid until the arrival of the ambulance which transported him to the TAEP of Larnaca General Hospital.
The doctors on duty confirmed the death of the 76-year-old, the exact causes of which will be ascertained by the legal autopsy that will be performed on his body after all the necessary examinations and tests for coronavirus are performed.
The case is being investigated by the Larnaca Department of Minor Offenses.
