A second wave of stricter measures and "Lock Down" will be catastrophic and unmanageable, says POVEK, adding that the priority of the Organization is to address the risk of outbreak and spread of the Coronavirus, the universal implementation of the Protocols, as well as individual and collective businesses and employees.

According to a relevant announcement, the Central Secretariat of the General Assembly of POVEK met in a regular meeting with the main topic of the situation and the problems experienced by the Small and Medium Enterprises as a result of the Koronovirus Pandemic.

Evaluating the measures and plans implemented by the Government, POVEK states that "it was in the right direction, mainly supporting employment and employees, but insufficient to give substantial support to companies."

It adds that a huge problem with the risk of closing permanently is faced by businesses mainly in the purely tourist areas of Ayia Napa-Protaras and elsewhere, businesses that continue to be in compulsory closure or in a chain of strict protocols and businesses that are directly and indirectly financially connected to above categories.

Among other things, it is stated that the main problems for which the Executive, the State and the State have a responsibility and obligation to address, giving oxygen to companies to endure and survive are the issues of rent and liquidity / financing of Businesses.

POVEK also demands the abolition of the mandatory Fee (hike) of € 350 imposed on companies since 2012, saying that "it is unfair and leveling to equate a kiosk with a MALL".

On these issues, the General Assembly of POVEK will continue the contacts and meetings with the Executive Power, the Parliament and the Political Parties, while the Central Secretariat has authorized a committee of the Commission to take dynamic measures if the situation remains the same.
