It seems that the increased incidents of violence in schools are causing concern to the Ministry of Education.

Speaking to Protoselidos, the Minister of Education Prodromos Prodromou said that this situation is troubling and causes concern, with him saying that measures are being taken.

"Because I hear that there is an outbreak, unfortunately we always have such incidents. Since the beginning of the school year, we have had two or three cases, but what causes particular concern is that some groupings and some conflicts are gradually being created, which in some cases also have racial references. This is a problem that worries us," said Mr. Prodromou.

He went on to say, "in our schools, a lot of effort is being made to ensure that there is no racism, no discrimination and that all children are included smoothly in the school. At the particular school, where the incident happened recently, measures have been taken and there will be increased security and surveillance by the ministry and the police.

He added that he himself intends to visit the school in the next few days to see the management and the teachers who, as he said, "showed respect and stood in front".

He pointed out that since the beginning of the year, preliminary work has been done and in some schools there will be increased surveillance and guarding of the premises.
