In the same context, the President of the Republic will have in the next few days a series of contacts with actors and personalities who have specific views on the radical modernization of the educational system of Cyprus, with the aim of upgrading public schools.
According to an announcement by the Presidency of the Republic, the President of the Republic had today a long and productive meeting with the Rector of the University of Cyprus.
During the meeting, the current crisis, the issues of education in Cyprus, as well as actions to upgrade the provided education were discussed.
Special emphasis was given, among others, to the evaluation of educational work, teachers and students, to the upgrading of the provided programs in Technical Education with the contribution of the University of Cyprus, to the better utilization of educational time, among others, extension and rationalization of teaching time to serve the well-understood interest of public education, in the evaluation of school units and in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, study of a system of examinations and criteria for admission to Higher and Higher Education institutions.
