The operation of the European Digital Certificate for COVID19 will start for all countries at the same time on 1 July and there are three groups of countries which after preparing the technical preparation, submit to the EU all the details of their proposal and after approval then can start this date, said the Deputy Minister of Innovation, Kyriakos Kokkinos, on SIGMA's show "Protoselido".
As he explained, the seven countries that are in the first group and passed the "test" are Denmark, Greece, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic and started their operation experimentally, however, it is still pending. Regulation on personal data, which will be adopted by the European Parliament on 15 June.
As for Cyprus, it will be ready to submit its own data on June 15, while every day everything that is prepared is submitted for inspection.
The official operation will begin on July 1, he said.
The certificate can be obtained either on one's mobile phone or in printed form and will be used at airports.
When it is announced and it is ready on July 1, every citizen will be able to enter an application and from there they will apply for a COVID certificate either because they have been vaccinated with both doses or because they have become ill.

Asked to comment at this stage if someone who wants to travel can present the vaccination card, Mr. Kokkinos replied that in some countries it is acceptable, however, the Ministry of Health gives an additional document with the citizen's data in both Greek and English, so that there is no problem in his journey.
