Teachers' reactions to the climate conditions in the classrooms, which make it difficult to teach, continued yesterday. The general secretary of POED, Haris Charalambous, entered an empty room at 10:05 a.m. with its thermometer writing 33,5 degrees Celsius, with the windows open. Complaining about the lack of air conditioning, Mr. Charalambous wondered what the conditions would be like at 12 noon when the room was full of students.
The findings and attitudes of Mr. Charalambous were challenged by the head of the Technical Services of the Ministry of Education, Andreas Marangos. Speaking on ANT1's noon show, Mr. Marangos said that in ten working days the schools are closed and the Technical Services continue to take measures. Indicatively, he referred to the installation of fans, thermal insulation, shades in school premises, the installation of air conditioners in multi-purpose rooms as well as in the new schools that are being built, which are zero energy consumption.

Dinos Ellinas, chairman of the Coordinating Committee of School Supervisors, also spoke on the subject, referring to Alpha's noon show as "hypertrophic and expensive education with the lowest learning rates in Europe, where no matter how many measures are taken for safety and health, they will improve, with Education becoming even more expensive. " Mr. Ellinas noted that there are problems, but they should be placed as a priority, emphasizing that the image that students are in daily danger is invisible.
At the same time, he expressed the position that an attempt is being made to disorient the serious issues of Education, with references to secondary issues. The president of POED, Filios Fylaktou, spoke about the unacceptable position on the part of Mr. Ellinas, rejecting the correlation of the issue of the conditions prevailing in the classrooms with the learning outcomes. In a post, Mr. Fylaktou invited Mr. Ellinas and Mr. Marangos to visit a school to get answers. "In order to get an answer to the whole question, you have to go to a school tomorrow from 7:20 am to 1:05 pm. Then, you will review everything you say !!! Take with you Mr. Marangos and anyone who has opinions like yours! ", He wrote characteristically.
