The District Court of Larnaca today sentenced a 39-year-old man to five months in prison, after finding him guilty in connection with a case involving 1. Driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (147μg% instead of 22μg%).
In addition to the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, the 39-year-old was facing two more charges:
2. Negligent driving and causing damage to property (Penalty 15 days imprisonment).
3.Driving a motor vehicle without a safety certificate (One month imprisonment).
The above penalties will be concurrent with the prison sentence of the first category.
Also, the Court imposed on the 39-year-old, ten (10) penalty points, as well as the deprivation of his driver's license for a period of 12 months (from the day of his release from prison).
