A 37-year-old man was placed under one-day detention for a case of illegal possession of property to facilitate investigations.

According to a police announcement, yesterday at 16:20, while members of the Traffic Department of the Paphos Police Directorate were on a motorized patrol on Poseidonos Avenue in Kato Paphos, they noticed an unknown person moving on foot and in possession of a TV set. They approached the above person and found that he was in possession of a black TV, while he did not have any personal information to suggest his identity.

He was subsequently arrested and remanded in custody on charges of unlawful possession of property. Further examinations revealed that he was a 37-year-old permanent resident of Paphos. During interrogation, the 37-year-old allegedly refused to state the place of origin of the television he was holding or to present any evidence regarding its possession. He was arrested and remanded in custody for one day.

In another case, according to an announcement by the Police, on 27.5.21 a person from a village in the province of Paphos complained to the Paphos police department that the previous day his mobile phone worth 300 euros was stolen from his residence in the village where he lives. For the case, a testimony emerged against a 19-year-old from Limassol. An arrest warrant has been issued against him and he is wanted.

The examinations continue for both cases.
