An "earthquake" in the investment program and in the political-economic system is expected to cause the investigation completed by the Audit Office for five naturalization files.

The draft finding will be sent to the Home Office on Friday or Monday for comment, followed by the final report.

According to a report by SIGMA and Kyriakos Penidaex, citing reliable sources, the finding of the Audit Office will indicate a possible commission of serious criminal offenses.

The information that there will be a loss of state revenue in all five cases is causing a special sensation.

In particular, it will be a finding of the Audit Office that the state did not collect the amounts it should have received, based on the laws and regulations in force at the time, and the report will make a recommendation for further investigation by the competent authorities regarding the money flow.

Intermediaries should not be ruled out.

"Door" for other items

In the meantime, the Advocate General's Opinion is currently closing the door to the Audit Office to extend its investigation to other
naturalizations.

The Ministry of Interior sent a relevant letter to the Audit Office today, informing that it will not give it, for the time being, the fifteen additional files, due to the parallel extensive investigation that the newly formed three-member Investigative Committee is expected to start.

However, the Audit Office will not appeal to the Supreme Court, as long as the powers of the Audit Office are not disputed to conduct an audit, even at a later stage.

Meanwhile, in his statements, the representative of the Audit Office, Marios Petridis, confirmed the information transmitted last night by SIGMA that the Audit Office will exclude the Assistant Auditor General, Kyriakos Kyriakou, from its investigation for the five files, due to his parallel participation. to the Research Committee, on the grounds of ensuring issues of objectivity and impartiality.

They are looking for experts

Regarding the work of the Research Committee, its members, according to information from SIGMA, received a list of names of individuals, who are proposed to staff the support group for the Commission.

The Commission has already signed the Advocate General's decree, which has been published, as we learn, in the printed form of the Republic newspaper, but has not yet been posted on the internet.

Tomorrow, the members of the Committee will sign the oath and in the next few days will receive the files with data from the Ministry of Interior.

They will also be sent for study and the conclusion - "fire" of the first three-member Committee chaired by Dimitra Kalogirou.
