The coronavirus "hit" the nursing homes again - What the Ministry of Health says

Clarifications in relation to yesterday's cases in nursing homes were given today by the Ministry of Health.

- 11 cases were found in a nursing home in Larnaca District. All individuals are tenants and are case contacts working on the roof. 8 people are fully vaccinated, one person received the first dose and the other 1 have no vaccination history. 2 people had to be transported to the hospital, one of whom was detained for inpatient treatment and the second returned to the roof. The positive cases were isolated and a doctor has already visited and evaluated the cases. Everyone has mild and / or no symptoms.

- 1 person was found positive in a day care center in the District of Limassol. The person completed his vaccination a week ago.

- 1 person was found positive in an elderly center in the District of Nicosia. This is an employee without a history of vaccination.

- 1 person was found positive in a special school in the District of Limassol. This is an employee who does not have a history of vaccination.

- 2 people were found positive in a children's home in Larnaca District. They were close contacts of previous cases and have been isolated. They are minors and do not belong to the age groups that can be vaccinated.

- 3 people were positively identified in a roof / convalescent home in the Limassol District. They are tenants, both are vaccinated and one has no vaccination history. Both people who have been vaccinated have mild symptoms and the person who has no history of vaccination has more severe symptoms but does not need hospitalization. They are monitored medically.
