DIKO warns of insufficient control when crossing the roadblocks.

In a statement, DIKO states that the insufficient control of the passage through the roadblocks is again emerging as a serious issue, on the occasion of the Police investigations for the recent armed attack against police officers.

The areas, according to the announcement, controlled by the Republic of Cyprus, have become literally an open vineyard, with the result that people marked by the Police come and go in the occupied areas, even suspects and in some cases some escape the arrest, because they find "Shelter" in occupied Cyprus, from where they escape abroad.

It is also a fact, according to DIKO, that smuggling flourishes through roadblocks, not only illegally imported products in Cyprus, but also drugs, crackers and even weapons.

It is imperative, as mentioned, the leadership of the Ministry of Justice and the leadership of the Police, to make such moves, in order to increase the number of people who staff the roadblocks, to receive even basic training and to strengthen the sections of the roadblocks, with equipment, which detects the trafficking of illegal products, while, finally, it is noted that the strict enforcement of the provisions of the regulation on the green line, will work in the direction of protection of society and the economy.
