Following the Decree of the Minister of Health No. 36 (par. 2.1), dated 31 July 2020, regarding the measure for the use of a protective mask by the general population, aged 6 years and over, indoors, where there is an increased gathering of the public, the Ministry of Health clarifies that the measure should to be applied by the citizens in the following areas / premises:
- Supermarkets / Ovens
- Department Stores / Retail Stores / Shopping Centers
- Churches
- Visitors to Hospitals / Clinics / Nursing Homes / Other Health Care Institutions
- Pharmacies
- Services / Departments of the public and wider public sector and private companies that receive / serve the public (eg banks, KEP, Post Offices, EAC, etc.)
- Betting agencies
It is noted that non-compliance with the measures constitutes a violation of a Decree by the citizen himself and the fine of € 300 is borne by the citizen himself and not the company / premises.
It is also reminded that the use of a mask is mandatory for employees in public service positions, as follows:
- Public transport (eg bus drivers),
- Interiors of private companies, Departments of public and wider public sector, serving the public, such as Citizens' Service Centers, Post Offices, courier companies, courier payment points of Organizations (eg EAC, CYTA, Local Government), coke,
- People working in direct public service positions in retail businesses.

- Supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies, public markets, retail stores, etc.
- Serving the public in places of the food chain such as butchers, fishmongers, fruit shops, kiosks, mini markets, retail (eg companies selling clothes and shoes, cosmetics, coke), etc.
- Distribute
- Construction / Construction Workers: Construction workers must use disposable masks when traveling by car (the number of people in the car should not exceed 2 people) when using lifts
It is noted that the maximum wholesale and retail price of masks is set in the Decree of the Minister of Health, dated 31 July 2020. Therefore, any violation of this Decree should be reported immediately to phone 1429 (Consumer Line) to take the appropriate measures.
