Ministry of Health: Updated travel instructions for the coronavirus

Following previous announcements, the Ministry of Health informs citizens that it is reviewing the instructions for asymptomatic travelers who have traveled in the last 14 days and categorizes their countries of origin as follows:

Category 1:

  • Hubei Province of China
  • Northern Italy (areas north of Pisa, Rimini and Florence)
  • Iran
  • Republic of Korea

All passengers who have stayed or traveled in the above countries / regions should be placed under medical supervision.

Category 2:

  • Other provinces of China (excluding Hubei Province)
  • Central and southern Italy
  • Japan
  • Hong Kong
  • Germany
  • France
  • Spain
  • Greece (Prefecture of Achaia, Ilia and Zakynthos)

All passengers who have stayed or traveled in the above countries / regions should be self-restrained in their home for 14 days (restriction of close contact and movement, observance of basic hygiene rules, monitoring and reporting of symptoms).

Category 3:

  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom
  • Netherlands
  • Sweden
  • Belgium
  • Singapore
  • Greece (excluding the Prefectures of Achaia, Ilia and Zakynthos)

All passengers who have stayed or traveled in the above countries / regions should self-monitor without restrictions on movement and in case of symptoms to stay at home and contact the 1420 Call Center stating their recent travel history.

The Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health clarifies that all passengers from the three categories of countries will be led through the Aliens and Immigration Service (YAM) to the airport clinic.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Health appeals to all citizens to follow the instructions of personal hygiene and take preventive measures of self-protection. Those who present with symptoms that indicate a respiratory infection are invited to contact IMMEDIATELY with the Call Center 1420.
