Some 14 million Americans will lose their insurance coverage in 2018 under a proposed Republican bill to replace the Welfare and Health Care (Obamacare) program, according to the long-awaited report from the U.S. Congressional Budget Office.

The number will have grown to 24 million in a decade.

"The CBO and the Joint Tax Commission (JCT) estimate that in 2018 an additional 14 million citizens will be uninsured with the implementation of the proposed bill, compared to current legislation," the report said.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that by 2026, 52 million people will be uninsured, compared to 28 million who would not have had insurance coverage that year if the law bearing the Barack Obama seal remained in place.

At the same time, the bill under discussion in Congress will reduce the US federal budget deficit by $ 337 million over the next decade, due to the reduction of government subsidies for health, the CBO said.

The White House "disagrees" with the collapsed report with Health Minister Tom Price stating that the Budget Office did not take into account the overall proposed plan for health reforms.
