The representatives of the Municipality of Sotira, who participated in the recent Wedding Exhibition in London, London National Wedding Show, which took place from 28 to 30 September, returned quite satisfied.
Coordinated by the Development Company of the Province of Famagusta and the CTO, the representatives of the Municipality of Sotiras, Mayor Mr. George Takkas and Municipal Councilor, Mr. Antonis Koumis, presented themselves as a single identity with the other Municipalities of the Free Province with Famagusta representation team. Our Municipality, however, was the one that had the strongest presence at the stand, as it seemed to enter dynamically in the field of Civil Weddings and had attracted incalculably great interest from future couples and travel agents.
In addition to the expectations was the information material that was distributed (which our website presented exclusively) and it was common to find that there was a lively interest while the new deductions made for the performance of marriages were not at all contemptible.
At the same time, many contacts were made with wedding ceremony organizers based in the United Kingdom and Cyprus and views were exchanged on the further promotion of the Savior through contacts and cooperation with specialized travel agents-wedding organizers.
In his statements on our website, the Mayor of Sotira, Mr. Georgios Takkas, among others, stated: "Our visit to the London exhibition was very useful for how we proceed with the Civil Wedding Ceremony in the Municipality of Sotira. We had the opportunity to talk to travel agents and specialized wedding agencies and other organizers of tourism promotion and we got useful information for future development of the coastal area of our Municipality for this purpose. We believe that with the creation of the appropriate infrastructure, the Municipality of Sotiras can have a respectable income from this sector. ”
