With sharp points against Nikolas Papadopoulos, for his position regarding the form of solution of the Cyprus problem, comments the president of DISY Averof Neophytou, the controversy for the bi-zonal bi-communal federation.
He stated that the attitudes, but also the silences, of those who claim to lead the Republic of Cyprus, and which refer to approaches outside the parameters of the United States, are harmful to the Cyprus issue. The only thing they succeed in, he added, is not to start the dialogue again, with potential risks to the issues of stability and security in the country.
Mr. Neophytou also referred to the regional and defense cooperation of Cyprus, emphasizing that with the right strategy the Republic of Cyprus is upgraded, its prestige and credibility are strengthened, but also a grid is created that strengthens the Republic of Cyprus and its entity. He added that Cyprus' participation in the European defense cooperation Pesco removes from Turkey the argument that it is supposedly needed to protect Cyprus from external dangers.
