A political agreement on the Migration and Asylum Pact was reached shortly after overnight consultations between the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission.
In particular, the Spanish presidency states in a post on Platform X: "The Council and the European Parliament have achieved significant progress in the reform to improve the EU immigration and asylum system. A political agreement was reached on the five files of the new EU Pact on Immigration and 'Asylum'.
