The Government is preparing a comprehensive National Industrial Strategy for the period 2017-2030.
The goal, said President Anastasiadis, is the gradual increase of total productivity by 100% by 2030, the increase of the innovation index to 5,5%, the increase of exports by 150% and the contribution of the industry to the Gross Domestic Product to 20 % from 7% in 2015.
He spoke at the OEB Research and Innovation Awards ceremony.
Analyzing the already undertaken policy and the future goals of the Government in research and innovation, President Anastasiadis stated that the economic crisis made urgent the need to create a modern business environment as well as the exploitation of new innovative and productive sectors.
In this context, he added, the creation of an integrated network is underway, through which research, entrepreneurship and innovation are supported and developed.
