PTD: Continue to work with parents on reforms

The assurance that the Government will continue to seek and strengthen its cooperation with organized parents to promote the reforms that still need to be made in our education system, was given by the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis to the Pancyprian Confederation of Parents' Associations .

According to an announcement, in a meeting yesterday at the Presidential Palace, President Anastasiadis was informed about the main issues that concern parents today, noting that the continuous quality upgrade of the education system was an important priority of his government.
He also thanked the organized parents of Primary Education for their good cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture and their very positive contribution to the promotion of the many reforms and innovations introduced in our education system in previous years.
The President of the Republic referred in particular to the importance of taking initiatives by organized parents who support the work of schools, as was done in the case of the pilot program for the smooth movement of Primary Education children with mobility disabilities, as well as the drafting of new legislation , as was done in the drafting of the new Regulations for the Operation of Primary Schools.
He further assured that his Government will continue to seek and strengthen its cooperation with organized parents to advance the reforms that still need to be made in our education system, such as the introduction of a new system of evaluation of educational work and teachers. , the modernization of Special Education and the Regulations of Operation of Primary Schools, the revision of the way of evaluation of students in primary schools and others.
Finally, he said that in this context, further ways of involving organized parents and institutionalizing the role they can play in decision-making at various levels of the education system will be studied.
